About

Bridge Walk for Mental Health

For the past ten years, the Wellness Walk has offered our communities a fantastic opportunity to get out for a walk and increase physical activity while showing support for people living with mental health challenges, their families, and carers.

Crossing Sydney Harbour Bridge signifies bridging the gap between the mental health support that exists and the support that’s still desperately needed. Gathering together demonstrates fellowship, union, and care for the people we support. The act of walking reflects that living with mental health challenges is a step-by-step, one-step-at-a-time process.

Participants will be able to celebrate their efforts with a vibrant festival full of fun activities on the grounds of Government House. People can either choose to walk 2km around the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens or 5.9km across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and back.

About Mind Australia

Mind Australia is one of the largest providers of community-managed psychosocial services in Australia, with a range of residential, mobile outreach, centre-based and online services.

We support people 16-64 years of age who are experiencing mental health and wellbeing challenges, providing practical and motivational support. We work with them to set goals, and develop the knowledge and skills to achieve them. Mind also works with people to address poverty, housing, education and employment.

As a leading employer of people in designated lived experience roles we recognise the unique ability to let people lead their own journey, ensuring their human rights are upheld. We also champion systemic change.

Mind Australia delivers services in Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia, and in New South Wales through One Door Mental Health.

About One Door Mental Health

One Door was established in 1985 under the name Schizophrenia Fellowship of New South Wales by a group of people living with schizophrenia and their families, friends, advocates, and health professionals.

For over 40 years, One Door has been a NSW provider of specialised mental health services. One Door's multidisciplinary teams offer mental health and wellbeing services, including clinical, psychosocial, youth, and peer-led supports, as well as support and respite for carers of people living with mental challenges in communities across NSW.

Now, as part of Mind Australia, we combine One Door’s commitment to nurturing local relationships in NSW and its reputation for flexibility and partnership with funders, alongside Mind’s broad capabilities across different service types, outcome measurement, and efficient service design and delivery.
